Stafford Classic Bike Show 2010 Uploaded by fetchmybikecouk, found in Motorcycle history
Last weekend saw the 30th Carole Nash Classic Bike show at Stafford. It also saw the first time that we at fetchmybike.co.uk held a stand there. We delivered one of the show bikes there, a 1981 Triumph Tiger, 1 of only 5 ever built for test for the Met Police, a nice piece of kit, and Chris, the owner has a nice little toy. We had lots of interest on our stand throughout the weekend, not only people stopping by to talk to us and ask for quotations, but we also shared the stand with a good friend of ours who was displaying a complete set of reproduction Amal one inch tidy handlebars that he has handcrafted himself. Being so rare these bars stopped people in their tracks as they passed, a real work of art. He makes them to order, so if you are interested in any, please feel free to contact me, they fit Calthorpes, Broughs, Vincents, AJS from the 30's. The show had the usual displays from clubs and individuals, as well as the Bonhams auction. Many traders were present, with lots of boxes of rusty bits right through to clothing (unfortunately I couldn't find myself a nice a little project!!!). There were also plenty of European visitors to the show, Dutch, German, Swedish to name but a few as well as a few Americans, which goes to show how much interest there is in this show, the organisers say that 32,000 passed through the gates over the weekend. All in all a good weekend, the weather held off most of it too, which makes a nice change. I am hoping to upload some photos here soon.
