Sailing holidays in Ibiza and Formentera are sure to be thrilling and mesmerising. These two islands to the south of the Balearic Islands of Spain, offer different types of adventure and excitement to holidaymakers, each complementing the other. The island of Ibiza is famous for its clubs and summer beach parties, a place for complete self-indulgence! During the summers, Ibiza’s bars and nightclubs are always packed with party people, giving it its reputation for decadence and partying. It has an airport of its own so getting to Ibiza is not a problem. In addition, one can find comfortable Ibiza apartments or beautiful Ibiza villas offering all levels of amenities to suit different budgets. Formentera on the other hand, is calmer and more peaceful and if your plans include quiet relaxation and keeping away from noise, this island is perfect for you. Formentera is renowned across Europe for its pristine white beaches. The island was formerly reachable only by boat from Ibiza, making it the quieter of the two islands, but these days, there is a regular passenger service from the Spanish mainland. There are ferries that sail between Ibiza and Formentera in about 30 minutes, being available in advance. If you prefer not to take a flight directly to Ibiza, you may choose to take a flight to Barcelona, following which you could take a ferry to any of the Balearic Islands of Ibiza, Formentera, Majorca and Menorca. There is an advantage to following this route to experience the living cultural treasure and events in Barcelona, or a good halt if you can manage cheaper tickets to Barcelona instead. Ogling at the works of the surrealist painter, Salvador Dali, or the attractive sculptures of Gaudi, would give you a good taste of Spain before heading off sailing in the Mediterranean. Apartments in Barcelona are easily available in the happening parts of the town, so you might even be lucky to catch a musical or rock concert! Moving further south towards the Balearic Islands of Spain, you will notice that the weather conditions around Ibiza and Formentera are generally good for sailing during summer lasting from May to October. During this period, the two islands’ beaches are warm, particularly during the month of May. Glorious sunshine highlights the islands’ scenic beauty and the sea I calmer, being ideal for a sailing holiday in Ibiza and Formentera. The winter season starts in November and lasts until April, but even so, holidays in Ibiza and Formentera, are still a delight, as it never gets freezing cold! The island of Ibiza has four regions, namely Santa Eulŕria des Riu, Sant Josep de sa Talaia, Sant Joan de Labritja, and Sant Antoni de Portmany. A sailing holiday in Ibiza and Formentera through Sant Antoni de Portmany can be an exciting experience and is a favourite among British holidaymakers. There are several restaurants, bars and nightclubs in this town making it one of the most active regions of Ibiza. Aside from this, Sant Antoni de Portmany also has gorgeous beaches to explore. The region of Sant Joan de Labritja, located on the northern portion of Ibiza, is more serene and relaxing. It is quieter since fewer travellers visit this part of the region, and it has one of the clearest beaches in Spain. Sant Joan de Labritja has exceptional Mediterranean vegetation that is worth seeing. Walking and hiking are quite popular activities for you to enjoy during your holidays in Spain, on the beautiful island of Ibiza. It is time to plan your trip if you haven’t already experienced the fun, frolic and stunning beauty of the Balearic Islands of Ibiza and Formentera! http://www.ownersdirect.co.uk/barcelona.htm
