Aerodynamics - motorcycle dictionary definitionsUploaded by motorcycledirectory, found in a In motorcycling, Aerodynamics can be defined as:Motorcycle aerodynamics concerns the drag, wind resistance, reducing noise emission and preventing undesired lift forces on the motorcycle at high speeds. An aerodynamic motorcycle will integrate the wheel arch and lights into its shape to have a smaller surface area. It will be streamlined and have as few protruding edges crossing the wind stream as possible. Rider consideration is vital when making the perfectly streamlined motorcycle - the rider's shape when leant down on the tank will be factored when making the height and shape of the wind shield in order to disturb the passing wind as little as possible. The motorcycle will also feature a tail that flows as much as possible with the line created by the windshield and the rider. |
