It’s a fairly simple process all you need to do is make sure the two batteries are compatible for example because some car batteries have different outputs to motorcycles it may ruin some of the bikes electrical circuits. Before starting anything you need to make sure the bike with the good battery is running and the one that has the dead battery is in neutral. You need to start by attaching the red jump cable clip (the positive + cable) to the positive terminal of the dead battery. You then attach the other end of the positive cable to the positive terminal on the bike with the good battery. Then you get the negative (-) cable clip and attach either to the frame of the bike with the dead battery, if you can’t find a suitable part on the frame to clip the cable attach to the negative terminal instead. You then need to attach the other clip on the negative cable to a suitable frame part on the bike with the good battery or the negative terminal if there’s no frame space suitable. Then all that’s left to do is try to start the ignition on the bike with the dead battery once started you need to take the cables off immediately in the order that they were put on. |
