honda crf 450 2003

hi there people, i have a honda crf 450 2003 which will not start at all but when i kick it over it backfires ?? has any one got any ideas !! cheers.

Obvious questions, is there enough fuel in it? How old is the fuel?

If you haven't put in new fuel for a while I'd push start it in a high gear to try clear the old fuel out. You're getting a spark, which is a good sign.

Anything else you can tell us, when you last started it, is the battery charged etc? What happens when you try the ignition?

You usually go straight to the 500. I did mine last year and I did my CBT on a 125cc and then one further session on the 125 on my DAS and then up to the 500.
