| Honda never let the grass grow under their feet. Quick to respond to changes in the market, as soon as their Super Sports 750 cc four was upstaged in performance and looks by Suzuki's GS750 four in late 1976, they quickly unveiled a new and even more potent model, the CB750F2. The CB750F1 had been a positive effort by Honda to appeal to the purely sporting rider. Sharp styling and performance were allied to frame improvements to offer more stability at high speeds. It was the first effort by Honda in six years to change the image of a machine that had remained largely conservative in appearance since it started the superbike boom in 1969. Menacingly resplendant with its all-black paintwork and engine set off by the five-spoke composite construction wheels based on the designs first used on the factory 1,000 cc endurance racers, the CB750F2 takes the sports theme further.
